The Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Kufa participates in the symposium held by the Kufa Studies Center

The Dean of the College of Political Sciences at the University of Kufa, Dr. Haider Al-Amiri, participated in the symposium held by the Kufa Studies Center of the University of Kufa, which was entitled Street Children – Dimensions of the Problem and Proposed Solutions, in the presence of the University President, a number of deans and some members of the community police in the Najaf Governorate.
The symposium included three lectures, the first delivered by Dr. Ahmed Jaafar Al-Ansari, professor at the Faculty of Arts, in which he dealt with the exploitation of children with hard work and their spread in the streets and intersections in contravention of their rights to education and to receive education.
The second lecture entitled “The Legal Regulation of the Child Labor Phenomenon” was given by the Secretary of the University Council, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdali, in which he touched on the necessity of activating the legal texts that prevent children from engaging in hard work, pointing to the need to combat the phenomenon of beggary because it has become a utilitarian phenomenon that uses children for the purpose of making money.
The third lecture, which was given by Mrs. Zainab Al-Waeli from the Community Police Department, dealt with how to confront the phenomenon of disguised beggary and the role of the community police in combating this phenomenon.
University President Prof. Dr. Yasser Lafta Hassoun, for his part, stressed the need to activate the role of the family, the school, and social norms to raise children and adolescents, prevent cases of students dropping out of schools, and take care of needy families who do not have a stable income.
The symposium concluded with a number of recommendations, including activating the role of the social researcher in the courts and communicating with the Ministry of Interior to end the phenomenon of child labor.
